Add the ingredients to the machine according to the manufacturer’s directions.
Select the basic white bread cycle.
Fragrances for cinnamon vanilla soap have been ordered (round 1, anyway). One of my suppliers had a cinnamon vanilla on sale, so I snagged some. I’m also going to try blending vanilla with cinnamon leaf essential oil, but the cinnamon leaf doesn’t smell as much like ground cinnamon as I’d like. It’s more green-smelling, which makes sense because it’s from leaves, not the bark. Essential oil from cinnamon bark is really irritating to the skin, so I don’t use it.
Anyway, experimentation should commence later this week. I also ordered a pear scent and an apricot scent… I’m such a sucker for fruit scents.
I didn’t get the job in Corvallis. I had pretty much figured I didn’t. I called yesterday afternoon, the lady was “at lunch” (riiight) and I left her a voicemail to call me. Does she ever call? No.
I get an EMAIL rejection letter this morning. She PROMISED me she would call me, and instead I get to stew for several days and get a rejection email.
I call that rude. I guess I wouldn’t have wanted to work for them anyway.
Well. They didn’t call. Somehow, this seems totally bizarre, given how “with-it” the lady who interviewed me seemed. My best guess is that they didn’t choose me, and forgot to call the rejects. Or something. I really don’t know, but I’m braced for rejection. Some closure would be nice, though.
The market was pretty good today, despite the sprinkles from the sky. That was nice (the part where it was good, not the sprinkles).
Life goes on. I’m not sure what to think about it. Tomorrow I’ll scan the classifieds and send out some more applications.
I called this afternoon about the job. The lady who interviewed me told me to call her if I hadn’t heard from her by this afternoon. They still haven’t decided, but they’ll have a decision by tomorrow afternoon. I am on pins and needles here. If they DO hire me, I have to start on Monday and to quote the usual female lament — “I don’t have ANYTHING to wear!”
It’ll be an emergency shopping trip this weekend. My last job was in a lab, so everyone wore jeans and sneakers and whatever. My wardrobe still consists of former college clothing: jeans and sneakers and whatever. I don’t have anything “professional” looking except my interview outfit, which is waaay over the top for this office. It’ll be nice to have honest-to-gosh new clothes (did I mention almost everything I own was purchased used, so my clothes are not just old, they’re OLD?) bought in an actual store for NEW clothing.
They just have to hire me first.
I go back and forth on this one. Please hire me, please don’t hire me. Right now I’m having a Please Hire Me moment. I want new clothes.
