Good/Bad

The stuffing was good, but not to die for. Next time I’ll save my fingers and leave ‘em out. (Or try to find them canned or something)

Lots of things on my mind tonight. Thanks to Big Fat Blog I discovered pro-anorexia sites tonight. This is a truly, truly disturbing trend, as these websites actually promote anorexia as a “lifestyle.” What? They’re full of images of fashion models (once and for all exploding the myth that the fashion industry doesn’t promote extremely unhealthy images of women, when these anorexic girls and women are holding them up as goddesses to aspire to), tips on how to be anorexic, tips on how to vomit without anyone noticing, etc. etc. I was appalled to say the least. I still don’t really know quite what to make of it all. I won’t link to any, but here’s a link to a real recovery website–Something Fishy.

All this makes me grateful that while I may be fat, I have a healthy attitude towards my body (most of the time), a healthy attitude towards food and nutrition, and towards the future. Yes, I will lose weight. It may not be now, and it may not be a whole lot. But, when I have a regular job with a regular schedule and can establish a routine for eating and exercise (instead of this crazy student existence), I believe that I will probably lose some weight as a natural consequence of this. I always lose some pounds in the summer because I have a more regular schedule.

So, it is a Happy Thanksgiving for me. I enjoyed a wonderful meal, which was relatively healthy (for a pig-out holiday, everything we had was low-fat etc). I will continue this through the rest of the holiday season, and will hopefully greet the New Year with a job, a new place to live, and a regular schedule FINALLY in my life.
