Break out the Botox

In a break from my more serious blog postings of the day, I’m going to go off about something completely frivolous…

I have developed a forehead canyon. You know, a BIG OL’ FROWN WRINKLE between my eyes. Too much frowning and looking serious lately, I guess. I suppose it’s probably been there for a while, but I got out my little compact mirror to apply some lipstick this afternoon, and suddenly noticed it, THERE, in between my eyes. I drew my eyes together in a “What the hey?” frown and realized… STOP FROWNING!

Now, I’m not against plastic surgery. I’ve written here that I want a breast reduction (yes, that’s a form of plastic surgery, although medically valid if your boobs are heavy enough) and to be totally candid, I’d loove to have my double chin sucked away to oblivion. Actually, after seeing the before and after photos, a tummy tuck would be nice too. Bye bye stretchmarks! Vain? Sure. Will I ever do these things (besides the boob job, that is)? Probably not. I’m cheap, and I’m not keen on pain and suffering. And Botox? Ahh Botox. The crown jewel of the In-and-Out plastic surgery set, the wonder drug of Hollywood. Hello? It’s a TOXIN! My mom, always paranoid about food poisoning (well, if you saw my grandma’s fridge, you’d know why) made sure her kids knew about the dangers of botulism. When I found out people were injecting this stuff into their foreheads, it just seemed bizarre. But it works! It’s discreet (unless you go overboard). Bye-bye wrinkles! But am I really THAT vain? Sigh.

So, back to the forehead canyon. I’m only 26. This sucker is only going to get worse. So unless I want to go down and have toxins injected into my forehead, I better get used to it… Although Avon does have a “Deep Crease Concentrate”…

  1. [...] A while back I posted a little freak-out when I noticed an incipient wrinkle between my eyes. It’s still there, but I haven’t done anything about it. [...]
